The protection of human rights in Iraq has faced numerous challenges due to prolonged conflicts, political instability, and social unrest. The United Nations has played a pivotal role in promoting and safeguarding human rights in the country through various mechanisms, including special missions, monitoring bodies, and support for legal and institutional reforms. This research examines the UN’s efforts in Iraq, evaluates the effectiveness of its programs, and highlights the challenges and achievements in protecting the fundamental rights of individuals within the Iraqi context.
